Since as far back as I can remember my trips to the White Mountains of New Hampshire have included a stop to see The Old Man of the Mountain. Sometime around May 3, 2003, after 100 years of TLC, this natural wonder and symbol of the Granite State tumbled off the cliff side and is no more. I'll miss that Old Man ... he's always been there when I went back to NH and was looking forward to seeing him once again ... now I just have my memories and my pictures. Like many others, we all expected to lose him, but also like many others, I didn't think to lose him in my life time.
